Service Description
School group of up to 10 people. The Nature-Based Wellbeing Day for Schools offers pupils a structured, supportive opportunity to develop emotional regulation, self-awareness, and positive relationships through guided mindfulness and nature-based activities. Set in a calm rural environment beneath the Cairngorm Mountains, the programme complements school wellbeing and mental health initiatives by providing experiential learning beyond the classroom. Pupils take part in supervised woodland walks, sensory awareness activities, age-appropriate breathing exercises, and reflective practices designed to support focus, emotional literacy, and stress reduction. Gentle, ground-based interactions with calm horses encourage empathy, non-verbal communication, and respectful boundaries. No riding takes place, and all activities are carefully risk assessed and facilitated by trained staff. The programme aligns with wellbeing, outdoor learning, and social and emotional learning objectives, supporting children to return to school feeling calmer, more settled, and better equipped with practical strategies they can use in the classroom and wider school environment.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Notice Period: - If you are unable to attend, please provide at least 1 week’s notice. This allows us time to re-advertise your spot. For recurring retreats, if you prefer to reschedule rather than cancel, we will be happy to accommodate an alternative date that aligns with your schedule. Organiser Cancellations: - If the organisers cancel a retreat, you will be notified as soon as possible, and a full refund will be issued within 48 hours of notification. Refunds: - If you provide at least 1 week’s notice and we can fill your spot, you will receive a full refund of the balance paid. Our retreats include a 25% non-refundable deposit. If you cancel and we are unable to fill your space, any additional balances (minus the deposit) will be refunded within 48 hours of confirming your bank details. A £25 administrative fee will apply to the processing of cancellations and related refunds. Emergency Exceptions: - We understand that emergencies can happen. If you believe your situation qualifies as an emergency, please get in touch with us at scotlandsequestrianretreat@gmail.com to discuss potential exceptions.
